If you have a Media Generator: Text; Solid Colour; etc . . on the Timeline it is an Event. Selecting by clicking on that Event you can delete it, yes. What are you having difficulty with?

Maybe this will help you. From the VP Glossary of Terms:

“An event is an occurrence of a media file on the timeline.“

So, ANYTHING that appears on the Timeline is an EVENT. And an Event can be:

• Video
• Audio
• Generated Media: Text; Solid Colours; Graduated Generated Media
• Stills

So a Text Event, rather than a Video or Audio or Still event, will be created from a Generated Media, but is an Event. OK?

I don’t understand? What is “media gen icon on the timeline” – show me? Also you said you wanted to delete this from your Project. I showed you how. What is it you would prefer to happen?

1) To remove from Timeline, Highlight Text Event and hit Delete. To remove from Project, highlight in Project Media hit delete.

What we’re after, as you allude to, in AUDIO, is a type of compression, but raising the DARKS and reducing the BRIGHTS.

This has the spectacular voodoo-like result of User-pre-masking areas of HIGHLIGHTS, MIDTONES and SHADOWS to balance the brightness/saturation of the Video – IN REAL TIME! As to your theory viz VLC being used by VP – not so much! – Read on and weep….

From reading widely on the OFFICIAL MAGIX VegasPro site, regarding the niceties of this specific H.265 it appears that the DJI drone output for H256 has a CODEC identifier within the File Header that is NOT recognised in VP, namely, here in BOLD:

Codec ID : avc1 (avc1/isom)

If you go to the more detailed sheets/displays in MediaInfo you should spot it. There are HEXADECIMAL hacks for this and as such is waaaay beyond my competence. Mostly I have a self-enforced embargo on anything that is more than just “User-Usability”. IMO this is far more fundamental than either of us contemplated.

You’d have to determine directly from DJI just what the feature-rich option that comes with this in the Header. I’m sure they will be helpful. Maybe it’s an iThang?

So, what will you decide to do? Get funky with the HexDec VooDoo? Transcode? Capture in a VP friendly format? – Word to and from the wise: Any new piece of kit, I obtain or capture myself Media, I then trial it through Vegas Pro before laying down the plastic!

And yes, I’m still awfully jealous of your piece of kit!
