    Hi

We have just been pulling our hairs out about this just recently…so far we have come to a temporary resolution which works but will experiment/test other compressions…i have exported vision as Quicktime
Select Custom – Click on Format Options
    Select Compression None
    Millions of Colour
    Best
25fps (PAL)this is Australia obviously you need 30fps
    Click OK
Select Video Only (unless you need both Vision and Audio)
Width Height (depends on Apect Ratio)
    Size to Fit
    Colour Levels 601/709
Lower Field rendering and Native Dimensions (which should automatically then pop up in Width and Height anyway

May i ask why you are not sending it out as Reference QT into AE?

How i normally export a reference qt file is, i right click on the sequence monitor and select Send to….Avid Studio then select Encoding for AVID DVD by SONIC..
Select on Auto Launch and select Squeeze.exe
Select Setting 1 : Sorenson Squeeze Encode for DVD then go to Options and export as Quicktime Reference
    Defaults – Digital Mastering
Select all the Flatten Video Tracks
    Fill spaces with black
    Render all video effects
Dispaly aspect ratio 4:3. 16:19 or Native Dimensions (whichever ratio you’re editing)
    Audio ( i have chosen) WAVE, 48kHz, 16bit
    Select Use AVID DV Codec
    Colour Levels RGB
Then ok it…and convert the file into whatever format you want it to be

This has not failed me (yet)
    Hope this helps 🙂

i have found that Squeeze converts files much quicker than what i have been using in the past which is the cleaner…it doesnt sound right that Sorenson would take 8 hrs to convert 26min doco…i have recently converted a 56min program in just over an hour….i was wondering (just maybe) if you have used alot of animations/graphics within the doco, cos it would take longer than usual cos of the layers…it just doesnt sound right that it would take that long 🙁
