The Zdisk works. We have 2 now. The fan is making noise in one… after only 20 hours or so of use. I will see how they will deal with me over a fan replacement. I don’t think there is any other choice for an external SATA? I would recommend it. BTW, some hard drives like Western Digital as so good that they don’t really need cooling. So I could disconnect the fan. But Maxter, and Seagate need the fan.

Quark… hmmm… I have not used that since the mid 90’s when we were testing Quark and pageMaker because we wanted to move away from… VENTURA!!!

Thanks. This software will do it. I called them and there is no file size limitation.

Thanks. I use PM 6.5 at home on a PC and PM 7.0 at work on a MAC but OS 9.x is a pain to use from OS X so they want me to get with it on InDesign. Lots of familiar things but other things are wierd. Thanks again. Glenn

I had been told that. But… I am using it far video files that bust the file limit of FAT32. No other way? PC’s won’t read a MAC format will they? Bummer.

I have done 1000’s of white Ritek’s. I have tried the silvers and think that if the graphic is disigned for the silver that it looks pretty good. I almost gives it a 3D look… like you are looking In To the image. But, if you want to reproduce a graphic true to life… it has to be on white. I am just using 2 Epson R200’s

I set compressor for CBR at 8000 and BEST. The program rendered the .m2v file at 1.77GB which is way to small for a 56 minute show. It is a dual G5 computer at… I think about 2.7 ghz? Anyway, I exported the file as a self contained and loaded in to Compressor and the same settings yeilded a file size of 2.14 which is still no good. So then I tried using 2 pass VBR at 7.7 and 9000 and the file was 2.7GB which is getting better but I should have been able to make it about 3.5GB for that length show. I guess I will have to use the other G5 that has FCP 4 ??? Why does this not just work right? Is this a known problem?
