And then who ever you send it to will need a dolby E decoder. (Dolby E sounds like static without a decoder)

No, you don’t set up frame rates like you might on a more traditional deck. It records and plays back frame rates based on the signal being fed into the system.

Actually the new HP Z laptop series (Z 17 and Z 15) were equipped with thunderbolt – supposedly beginning in october. Haven’t seen one yet, but i believe that model has been released.

  • Have you tried the yellow splice insert arrow?

turn off sync lock, select a clip and slide it forward. Everything after it will slide forward as well.

turn on sync lock, select a clip and slide it forward (or backward). Everything after it (on a track with sync lock turn on) will slide forward (or backward) as well.

    Hyperdeck should work.

Inputs can be HDSDI, HDMI, and others.

It’ll record to uncompressed / prores (any flavour) or DNX quicktimes. As long as your edit program can work with one of those, you should be good.

Use a dock, mount your SSD in your edit bay and copy the file across. Only catch is the files are originally saved as “capture001” “Capture002” etc. you can’t name them anything specific until you access the ssd through a computer.

You are probably going to have to supply some more information.
    Type of files
    project type
do you hear audio, but no video.
if you scrub does the picture move.
    Have you tried lower res
what is your monitor box set to (yellow/green/yellowgreen)
Assuming you have no hardware to help you work with. (mojo or adrenaline)

sounds like a homemade build, so their could be plenty of reasons.

    Did you try a colortrace?

    Import your new timeline.
right click on it, select color trace
point it to your original timeline. If it doesn’t look like the automatic color trace is working, you can try
the manual tab and select it clip by clip.

Does seem flakey. I have a project sitting here where i have linked to clips in the proper structure, but am now having issues linking to those same clips in a different project.

I have also had success with single clips sent to me as tests, as well as clips i’ve downloaded off the WEB
    but today, no such luck.

Can you not do a manual select of the clips from those cards. Set your Ama selection to the file type and select all the clips. My first testing with f55 didn’t have the proper folder structure. Not sure if f5 is pickier or not

You could run them through resolve and get it to assign unique file names.

Avid is trying to protect you from yourself. There are enough people unable to relink back to the original file…Avid is trying to avoid you being one of those people.
