Also, just rereading your method…I typically create in and out points, select a track, and then click on the text+ icon in the tool bar.

Try adding a text plus, and then use your effect editor to work on it. No need to step into it.

Unfortunately, you are telling the guy who is not in charge of the purse strings to spend money, which he has said he us trying to get done…but that doesn’t help now.
If the project won’t open at all, I’d guess it is a project resolution issue…too big for the free version. Usually if its a plug in, you get the watermark on screen, but the project will open.
I’d try opening the project in studio, change it to HD, export the project, and see if it opens. I’m not sure what the limitation size is…if uhd is allowed in the free version, but I’d start there.

just guessing….do you have your timeline in a bin with a smart filter turned on that is hiding the timeline from that bin?

One of the first steps when editing for a show that is going down a pipeline like this is to check file names, and timecodes. If they all look duplicated (all start at 0:00:00:00) or are simply clip01.*, you have to stop what you are doing, and rectify the problem, or you will be causing a huge headache down the road. I use rename programs to change the clip01’s to shoot dates, and other programs to change the timecode to time of shoot timecode. These now become the master clips for everyone going forward. All backups and archives use these versions of the clips as well.

Have you tried searching the web? Purchase luts for Resolve seems to bring up lots of options.

Actually, i have a buddy who edits on premiere, and he says braw crashes his system as well.
I just don’t think its implemented into things other than Resolve very well.
I know Ann isn’t a fan of linking, but i’ve been linking for years, with very few issues…except as i said, Braw will crash after about half an hour.
