Text Plus timeline is blank when I step in
Hi All,
New to the forum here…I used Avid years ago and am re-learning. It’s changed a lot obviously, but one issue I’m having and can’t seem to find an answer to online is when I create a text layer in Text+ and put it on the timeline it shows up (named Filler) but when I step in to it there’s nothing there. What I’m trying to do is replace the colour in the text with video. There’s also only two video tracks in the blank stepped in timeline. I believe there are supposed to be three?

Try adding a text plus, and then use your effect editor to work on it. No need to step into it.

Also, just rereading your method…I typically create in and out points, select a track, and then click on the text+ icon in the tool bar.

You can do this with T+ but it’s not quite the same as the old Title Tool. There is a sample chapter of my book, The Media Composer Companion, which explains how to do this. You’ll find it at http://www.avid-companion.co,uk. There’s also a video tutorial on T+. HTH.
