  • Hi Brad.

Did you, after all of your frustrations, finally get a solution to the crashing problem with your Mac Pro? I have a similar problem where an older 2008 Mac Pro works fine with a project, but the same project on a new 2011 8-core Mac Pro crashes all the time.

  • Hi Josh, did you ever find a solution to your crashing Mac Pro? I have a similar issue where a project will crash on one machine, but works fine on an older Mac Pro. Both versions of FCP are the same point release of FCP7, and the OS on both are the same. I can;t for the life of me work out where the issue lies. I have run TechTool Pro, no issues, Disk Warrior run to sort out permissions, directories, etc.

    Hi Fabio,

Did ATTO come back to you with an answer to your problem? We are in the process of building a new RAID system with exactly the same specification as you: ATTO R380, ProAvio EB8MS, and Nehalem processor 2009 Mac Pro.

    Hi Peter.
Thought I would clarify that my customer is using the Boris Title Crawl that comes with Final Cut Pro 7. Is the flickering issue when creating Title Rolls something that you guys would look at or is it Apple that should be investigating? A few people have noted that something has fundamentally changed with the way the included Boris plugins work in FCP7 as opposed to FCP6.

    cheers,

    Glenn.

I’ve just created a new post with what I think might be the same problem. In my case unchecking deflicker in FCP7 makes it even worse. The flickering with it turned on is subtle, but it is enough to be noticable. i.e. in FCP6 it’s absent, in FCP7 you can definitely see it.
