Have you thought about creating an alpha track matte of the hole and then precomping, leaving the bottom layer outside of and underneath the precomp? That way your effect is only affecting what’s inside the pc and the the alpha track matte leaves a hole to see the unaffected layer underneath.

If you can\’t tell a tale tall then it\’s not a tale at all.

Thanks Steve. Yeah I decided to just render through Compresser, batching each folder at a time so I could monitor the progress.

RE: Otherwise, go out and buy Adobe Premier and edit natively.

So are you saying that if I edit in Adobe Premiere I would have this problem with h264 stuttering and chugging (and won’t have to make all these huge PRO RES files?

I’m noticing now that when I import the Photoshop file the color is off in After Effects.

Are there settings in Photoshop that will make the colors look correct in After Effects?

I turned off Display Color Management so I believe that I am looking at the actual color (interpretted by after effects.)

Are there settings in After Effects that you might be aware of to sync my color from Photoshop?

The Photoshop profile is same as in After Effects -Adobe RGB (1998) but when I match the color coordinates it looks different then in Photoshop.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you that is illuminating.

There’s one thing though – in my Output Module Settings Color Management Output Profile Settings I don’t have a setting that is sRGB.
There is only sRGB IEC61966-2.1, e-sRGB or EPSON sRGB.
And for Rec . 709 the ones that match that title there is HDTV (Rec. 709) and HDTV (Rec. 709) 16-235.

Is there an option that I should choose?

Thanks for the input. Also I realize that I am on Final Cut Pro 6 and not 5.
