Yeah, it works as you describe. The other filters can be used on empty events but flare & the others can not. Does anyone know a workaround?

I’ve tried changing the project properties in Boris, but nothing changes it. Changing the layer to screen in vegas helps in a way, but some of the colors in the flare get lost.

Thanks for the help. Boris is very powerful, but I find myself getting stuck in the workflow sometimes when using it with vegas.

You are right. If I drag the thumbnail of the preset it works. I am not sure if this makes it a Boris Bug, a Vegas Bug, a Compatibility Bug, or all of the above, but some dev should find out.

Yes, that is what I am seeing. I figured since transitions work with vegas presets (a feature which has sped up my workflow, incredibly) that it should work with filters. To my dismay, it does not work, when logically it should.

Here’s to a future boris update that would make boris red filter vegas presets work like boris red transition vegas presets. In other words an update to make boris red more consistent and faster to use.

The optical stabilizer is completely broken in Boris/Vegas. The footage disappears and hitting apply crashes the program every time. No work around that I can find.

Yippie. We need it bad, since Boris Red 5 and Vegas 11 don’t work very well together for anything but transitions and simple filters. My work around was to use Boris directly and not through Vegas so as to stop the constant crashing but Boris does not import AVCHD. So I can’t use any of the high end features of Boris. I work with AVCHD files mostly and do not use proxies or intermediates because it does not fit my workflow. I hope things get sorted fast because these compatibility issues waste a lot of my time and money.

I have this problem, too. Hitting the Boris apply button and going back to vegas and then going back into the Boris temporarily fixes the problem but it happens again.
