Why not get your clients to give YOU a thankyou note for all your hard work on their project, you can then use that for marketing and give that to ‘media consultants’ and other interested parties.

BTW What is a media consultant?

Sony claim uncompressed 48k audio so it should be good going line in.

However why not record seperate sound if sound quality is a major issue?

Might be worth taking a look at the new Sony HVR 7 camera which records to both solid state and tape

    Hi Kev,
You say your file size is 4.9GB that is to large for a standard DVD, you need to get it under 4.7GB

With file based footage the offline online workflow is tricky as you will have todo a conversion from high quality to low quality which takes time.

200hrs shooting on P2 would also be a challenge i would have thought.
That footage will need to be on a big raid and probably backed up to firewire drives anyway

My feeling is your shooting with the wrong camera !

You would be better off shooting either DVC PRO 100 tape
    HDCAM tape
    or maybe XDCAM HD

Good luck, you will need it.

‘if you go into a big production facility or network in the US you will see mostly AJA hardware and not much else.’

That maybe because AJA is an American company !

Plenty of top end post companies and broadcasters in Europe use Blackmagic with great results.

Having an AJA card wont make clients pay a higher day rate.
