February 12, 2006 at 9:58 am in reply to: Transfer mode settings on a layer appearing odd when applied to my particle playgrounds comp??Yes they blend with the layers below them in their own comp but NOT in the pp comp. The pp comp ignores any transfer mode on incoming layer maps.
Therefore the pp comp itself has to have a transfer mode applied.
Andrew, would you recommend trapcode particular? After this job I no longer want to use pp anymore! I’m sure some people love it but it seems very very difficult and unwieldy to do even simple things.

It was very simple but completely the opposite of what I’d been told regarding pre-comping and pp.
The transfer mode has to be applied to the particle playground layer NOT the pre-comped ‘Layer maps’ layer…
I can go to sleep happy now.

February 11, 2006 at 7:13 pm in reply to: Transfer mode settings on a layer appearing odd when applied to my particle playgrounds comp??I’ve been testing whether changes I make to my precomp layer map actually carry through, opacity/scale/rotations etc etc and they seem to work fine. However any transfer modes I set the layer to don’t come through at all.
Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong or is this supposed to be like this? How can I get my particles looking nice and glowy (with colours multiplying over the top of one another as they move) if I can’t apply any transfer modes!? 🙁 🙁
Any help really appreciated.

February 11, 2006 at 6:38 pm in reply to: Why aren’t my particles behaving as I’d originally set them up to before using Layer Map?? Help! Thanks for the reply RobotHero.
Yes it is in the exact center.
I’ve started my comp again and so far its not doing it… though I’m not changing many of pp’s parameters.
I don’t understand why it was doing it though??

I’ve been using the trial version of CS2 and for some reason the help function isn’t working properly. However I’ve just purchased it now so I’ll look into what you say. 🙂

Aha! I never noticed the direct selection tool! I kept mistaking the selection tool for it! Meaning I’ve only been using the pen tool and convert anchor point tool!
Good grief I feel pretty dumb!
Thank you Kim for your help!
I may be asking another dumb question regarding brushes soon so please come to my aid if you see it! 😉

Cool that works for moving the keys but how do I perform a scale on them?
I feel like I just want to drag the furthest key and scale them all up? I bet its not as easy as that though…?
Any more help appreciated.
