    Hi Aleksey

I tried this and it’s not working for me. I see that the keystroke is indeed associated with the Edit.Event.Mute cmd but when I select a track and hit this key combo nothing happens.

    any ideas?

by the way “Explorer” is the box selected in the key assignment screen, if this makes a difference.

Thanks for taking the trouble to check Mike.

It makes sense. I’ll use this same workflow as I always use a version for approval and it needs to be small.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Mike,

I just tried the sony avc with internet 4:3 template and I got 400mb file for a 22 min video!

I must be missing some settings. Do you customize the template?

Thanks Mike for telling me the specs. my vid is 20 min. so it should come in at under 100 MB. that’ll work.

Thanks Aleksey for your tip on the plugin. I’ve downloaded it and will give it a try as well.

thanks again guys. I appreciate the help.

I just noticed that the subject for this post is wrong.

For some reason, I can’t edit it to something more pertaining.

    Sorry about that.

    Thanks Mike,

I’m curious, can you tell me how many minute the project was and the size of the associated output to give me an idea?

Thanks for sharing your technique John.

I’ll definitely borrow it. I completely agree with you, the audio MUST be crisp and clear as it is as important, if not more important than video.

    Cheers,

    Thanks John!

I think this is just what I was looking for. I’ll give it a try. Didn’t even know it existed.

I do look at the overall track and adjust. however, without going into the whole story, I have a project where it clips a tiny bit in a few areas (too hot). this way I’ll just throw this this in and save me lots of time.

By the way, do you have a process that you use when you master an audio track (voice only ie. documentary)? do you have a favourite set of plugins that you use?

    Thanks Aleksey

That will be as close to a perfect solution as I will get!

If only Vegas would have the capability to assign such commands to custom buttons, wouldn’t that be a dream?

    Thanks again!
