Thanks for this. In the current project, I’m not using any special pluggins other than sony color corrector. I’ll still give the close/open/render sequence and see what happens.

If it works, I’ll report back with a fanfare. Not holding my breath.

When you mean crash, do you mean “good for the garbage”? or the data (index file) was corrupt and you had to reformat? I realize that neither is good news but I’m curious.

I have a USB 2.0 dock with a sata drive in it and I can simply power the external unit down with its switch and swap it for another. This has never caused me any problems. I’m looking for something similar but faster access time than using USB2 interface, hence this thread.

I’m not impressed with Sony on this one. It helps to know that you have the same card but haven’t found an answer either.

I wonder if it’s worth purchasing a card that is supported?

Does anyone have a recommendation for “good bang for the buck” card that Vegas will be able to take advantage of in GPU renders?

To clarify, the render attempts to start but before the gauge moves past the 0% completion, I get the error:

An error occurred while creating the media file XXXX.
The reason for the error could not be determined.

Others have experienced this and I searched for literally hours on the net with no solution as of yet.

I’m with you Lance.

I was on v9, skipped to v11 for all the new features. Unlike many of you who upgraded from 10, I don’t have a good fallback. Hence why I want to get it working in 11.

I hope someone pipes in. This has been an ongoing issue for a long time, one would think a solution has been found.

I’d really like to get this working as it would be a huge time saver in the rendering process.

Anybody have any ideas?

Hi Larry,
I use this often so I created a kbd mapping for it. I mapped the “,” (comma) to it.

assign it to edit.event.mute

and this will mute/unmute a selected event when “,” is pressed.

There are great reviews on the unit you mentioned. The unit doesn’t have a separate power switch…

Do you hot-swap yours with success? or do you always turn off you PC to switch HD?
