Thanks Dave,

It was hard to tell if my system supports hot-swap. It’s not in the Dell specs that I can see, although they do refer to hot-swap bays. I don’t see any ‘safely remove hardware” icon tray so I’m baffled.

I’m going esata. 🙁

I thought of this workaround but was hoping to understand what goes on and fix it directly without working “around” the problem.

Thanks John,

I picked up an internal hot swap bracket but will have to return it. I’m using a Dell XPS 435T and would have to cut away some of the plastic front panel, defacing the PC.

I’ll return it and pickup an esata dock instead. I was hoping not to have yet another power adapter to the mix.

Thanks for your input, I’m now comfortable in going esata.

HI Mike,

I pan/cropped the image so I could get what I wanted in the frame. I should also have mentioned that this section of the video looks perfect in the preview window in Vegas too. no vertical slivers.

Hi Mark,

I get an error when I copy/paste the cmd and try to run it, even after adding the missing “\” (I thinkg).

I also did a search for the substring “sonyvegas” in my profile folder and the folder was not found.

Price certainly is right. I’ll definitely have a closer look if I can’t find a solution with my current card.

Hi Dave and all others,

I bought one of these (very similar) but before I open the pkg (restocking fee if I do and return it) I have a question.

Is it truly hot swappable? I know it’s system dependent but I have a Dell XPS 435T and can’t tell if I’ll be able to hot swap it while the system is running?

Can anyone shed some light?

Hi Mark,

I doubt the file output location will make a diff, same with the antivirus but I’m willing to give it a try.

Where are the render logs located?
