Thanks for this John, most useful. The project I’m working on doesn’t have much movement therefore the rates you suggest should work great. I’ll give them a try.

That’s the one I’m using John. I was wondering if I can lower the bitrate while maintaining quality but reducing file size. wondering if there was another magic combination 🙂

Thanks to you both.

1. editing right off Esata drive (in a dock) provides good performance in Vegas?

2. I’m told USB3 is faster than Esata. Would I not be better off to go USB3 (with sata drives in dock)?

Back to my original question, which bitrate do you recommend when using MC as a template to provide a video for a client?

(to be viewed at a conference)

I had done some render tests a while back which showed MC taking a lot longer than Sony AVC to render… Had to use the “CPU Only” option as SVP 11 errors when using GPU with:

“an error occured while creating the media file…. the reason for the error could not be determined”

I can only seem to be able to use MC if I use “CPU only”

I have the latest SVP updates and when I use “check GPU” I get “Open CL available”

any ideas?

Great info John!

So if you have to provide an 720 HD video to a client for say… a conference screening off a laptop, would you use the Inet Main Concept render to render the video file for them? (SVP 11)
