Thanks so much for the offer Graham! Very kind of you.

I think I’ll try the free trial and see how that goes. If I get a snag… I may come knocking lol.

It looks like it may do the trick though.

    Thanks Mike ☺

It’s that I inherited video interviews with atrocious bg noise on a whole lot of different tracks, different cameras. So I’m hoping for a quick method, like that of Soundsoap. Project has limited budget/time.

That was sooooo easy. Learn the noise, tweak the slider and the audio was magically “cleaned” to 90%… very acceptable in all cases.

I’ll try Isotope and hope it’s as simple. I don’t have time to learn a whole variety of settings, etc.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Paul!
The price sounds like good value!

Does it have a “learn Sound” to extract the unwanted noise by listening to a sample like SoundSoap had?

Thanks Aaron for this info. Yes, I agree that size will depend on the variations of the visual.

    You provided good info here.

For everyone on this thread, I dis some testing given the many suggestions here and I’m all set. A 4 GB stick will work at a birate which will provide good quality (6-10 as Aaron mentioned or even using other suggestions such as the Vegasaurus util. The latter produced a 2.6 GB file.

Thanks to everyone who contributed here. I am very grateful and very much appreciate the help..
    Cheers,

    Thanks for this Nigel.

I will definitely try the extension you mentioned. Downloading it now ☺

On your 1 hour 1080 video, which bitrate(s) did you use to get it to 3.6 GB?

    Thanks Mike,
Yes, this will need to be read by TVs as well. SO Thanks Eric for the heads up on that one.

I followed the handbrake links Mike and it seems like a lot of work/time to get it setup. I’ll see if I can stick with the core SVP12 features/offerings.

I’ll do a test render this morning and see what I get. I don’t yet have all the music for this documentary but I doubt this will increase the file size by much.

    Hey Mike!
    Great to see you again!

Thanks for your 2 posts. very helpful.

So the “Internet” setting is of good quality…not only for “internet purposes” only?

… and 8000-16000 Mbps will suffice? (this is the default setting for the Internet 720p template)

    Thanks John!
I’ll wait and see if someone else pipes in.
Surely someone must know the answer to my 4 questions :)…. I didn’t think the questions were arcane lol. The answers will also likely help others.

Thanks Graham, I appreciate your input.

It will be mainly displayed using home computers. Getting answers to my four questions will greatly help me in figuring this out. I’m happy to try but having prior knowledge will help with efficiency. At this point I lack data, hence my specific question ☺

    Cheers,

  • Thanks for this Mark! Looks like a great trick.
I need the file asap therefore I ended up converting it using some free software tool on the web.
I’m keeping your trick in my pocket for next time though 🙂
