Hi Floh, Thanks. It worked great. Also if possible,
I’m wondering why are the clips darker once imported?
Any way to adjust while batch importing clips?
Any reason why its happening? I still have my other setup
running with kona 3 and getting darker clips, Its
Version 1.6 I thought it will change somehow. BTW
    clips coming from canon dslr.

    Hi Michael

[Michael Slowe] “I suppose even if Media 100 ceased as from today (heaven forbid), we could still carry on with the systems we operate now. Nothing to go wrong,”

Funny, I still have my G3/OS9.2-Media100 XR running every day for 10 hours driving a 52″ LCD above it on my store front looping all video we shot on HD. hahaha! Nice piece of hardware. With all the aluminum you see around, this beige turns yellower each day. Just cant kill the beast!
But if this thing dies, the 9500 is waiting in the storage. haha
Five, six, seven years from now, kids will think that this is a new cool computer. LOL

You should use the breakout box with the firewire instead. You can not run the QT 7.6.x with the 8.2.3b which is the last version for osx. You wont be able to see the clips in the bin But regardless of the quicktime for now, as long as you have the right serial key, youll be able to launch media100. Also your mac g4 is just right for that set up. Cheers!

As you describe i think you have 2 sets of media 100. One is the qx version with the bnc and another with the junction box you can only install one unles the other is an E600 card for sdi connections. . Like Floh said you need the license key to make them work. Also you need QT 7.5 the latest for os10.4.11

There are few popular companies listed in their website. In 16 years using M100, I have not met anyone here in NJ yet. Final Cut or Vegas are some of the popular options. Media 100 is never heard among plenty of my acquaintances. Most weekends, we use Media100 to do same day edited presentations on locations for events. People asked what we use after presentations, most thought its a new system. How many users? Not so many, I guess.

    Thanks Floh,
That is good to know. I use an xserve on location most of the time and I just need a backup. I always thought that editing HD requires a fast macpro tower to do the job. I just wanted to move the files to an SSD while mobile and probably import the files to Media100, still while mobile and move the SSD to one of the Xserve slots on location and start editing. It might save me at least an hour of moving files and importing.
My path is to move the Kona in a thunderbolt expansion in the future.

    Hi Marcus,
Interesting, I read about the Thunderbolt which I’m not familiar with until I went to the apple site earlier. About the expansion chassis that you mentioned, that’s really cool. If I’m correct, even the aja kona card can be used with the MBP as long as it has a Thunderbolt I/O, right? But, seems to me that MX02 Max with Thunderbolt is much simple, less bulk than using with the K3 Box.
BTW, you’re too far in advance with the chassis, I was checking online and its not out yet. haha
Thank you so much for the info.
