Im using Sonnet thunderbolt expansion for the aja kona3g and works fine and have a matrox mxo2 max as a backup for on location editing. It should work perfectly on the cylinder, im just using a new macmini for now.

Yes Floh, Thats what I meant. I have seen them used but would like to know the way in media 100 it there is. If you can give me a general direction to overlay it on a clip. Thanks

Here is what we have been using to shoot events for over 3 years now. I designed it myself.
It uses only one Anton to power the mixer, wireless mic, camera, lights and the shotgun mic.
Basically its like shooting with a camcorder and be able to focus and zoom same time. It has
a tigger on the hand grip so you dont have to take your hands off the grip. Also has sony standard
quick release plate to quickly remove from the tripod.

  • Would it be possible to get a video mixer for this? Mix the 2 source outputs coming to the mixer to a recorder. You can even wire the speakers directly to the mixer. From your camera and one from the projector Mix them in real time. You just probably need a title in the beginning. Unless you really need to edit the footage.

Probably your looking for an app like 7toX from Apple app store. So you can export media100 xml files to FCPx. I used that before but I remember drivers of Media 100 and FCPx uses different versions and wont output my video from Kona3 or MXO2. I guess somehow, its possible with the latest updates but have not tried again.

Might be a long time but exporting to QT might work if its edited already. I have projects over 250 GB per event, once edited and exported I get 20GB of 2 hour HD footage per job.

  • I just started doing my 1st project on Encore few days back and it came out great. Got a 2 hour wedding, though its complicated at first, these steps might help for a beginner like me.
From Premier Pro/File/Dynamic Link/Send to Encore
Once Encore opens you can change your video settings to DVD
Then it gets a bit complicated from here adding chapters and menu.
OR you can skip that part and continue below.
You can preview your work by clicking the Disc icon with play to preview.
then select BUILD, youll find all the settings there and if your project will fit the disc.
Also if you have chapters made, make sure to Check Project in case errors are found
In my experience, if there are errors found and you burn it, it wont play in some players
and will work on some players too. Better fix it first.
THEN hit BUILD to burn your DVD
I hope it works for you as well. If I missed something, youtube it.
BTW: my preview suck but once after burning disc it looks great.
    Try burning one.
    Cheers

Thanks Fabrizio for the help, the basic menu and chapters work just fine. Worked well with different BD players. This is one quick way of making playable disc. All d best to you!

That seems to work well. Thank you. But have another question since I got all the chapters or markers made, I saw under settings/preview/chapter menu, below a small screen beside the main menu. Can that be edited as well? I cant see what is written there and it might end up in the final burned bluray. Which panel can I access or edit that part? The Disc Template I’m talking about is “On Location”
Sorry for the questions I’m throwing, I took me a while to get a decent bluray using Encore 2 days ago and did not work well yet on some players and the video seems not as stable as the one I tried on FCX accidentally. Just running out of time. Sorry sorry.
