How was the DVD created, and does it play on a computer, but not in a set-top dvd player? What files are in the VIDEO_TS folder?

Do you have any dvd-video burning software?

When you export to mpeg-2, is there an option from Premiere to add pulldown? (guessing that Encore requires the pulldown to avoid re-encoding).

If not Premiere doesn’t encode with the pulldown, you could try using a utility such as dgpullown to add it to your file (use a small test file to see if the process will work all the way through so that Encore does not want to re-encode).

Make the right-arrow on 3/6 go to the button that goes to the next menu (or to an invisible button). Make that button be an auto-activate button that auto links to the next menu.

You can set the LOOP POINT for the menu so that after the first time through, it will jump to that “Loop Point” (but this will play the audio prior to the loop point the first time through).

Instead of the LOOP Number (leave it set as NONE), change the END-ACTION to be itself.

Or if you do use the Loop Number, make sure you don’t have any OVERRIDES set (those “overrides” can cause problems sometimes due to misunderstandings on how they work).

Slower burn speeds *might* help (depends on how well your burners work with your blank discs — also using quality blanks helps in the long run).

4-6mbps shouldn’t be causing any problems. How many audio tracks do you have, and what type of audio are you using?

Which version are you using (version number, and Studio or PRO)?

Have you downloaded and installed the latest updates from Sony’s support page?

You could burn an IMAGE, and then use another program to burn the image to disc…

In fact, I usually burn to DVD FOlders on my hard drive first, then test the dvd using PowerDVD or WinDVD before burning to disc.

On the PC you can import the elementary streams with something like PGCDemux, and then run them through a bitrate viewer (web search on “bitrate viewer”)

Or you can play the master using PowerDVD, and rt-click during playback and “SHOW INFORMATION”

Check if the master has LPCM audio — that with a high video bitrate can cause problems (if the Author didn’t pay attention to overall bitrate).

Do you have video mixed from both camcorders in the final timeline? If so, keep in mind that they probably have different field-order (the hard-drive cam is upper field first, and the miniDV cam is lower field first).
