I was under the impression that DVD authoring bitrates over 7 can cause duplication problems, however, in the DVD studio Pro manual, it is recommended the bit rate be 9.

We have been authoring DVDs here with VBR 4-6 kbs. What is the proper bit rate for duplication at 8x?

Also, I have been told that if i dupe at a slower speed it may help the problem. any advice?

Slower burn speeds *might* help (depends on how well your burners work with your blank discs — also using quality blanks helps in the long run).

4-6mbps shouldn’t be causing any problems. How many audio tracks do you have, and what type of audio are you using?
