but why the running time is different?

What’s the precise way to see the fps at timeline sequence on fcp?
I checked the sequence setting – not correct?

Thanks Dave, I haven’t tried your method yet. But now that I thought I have a longer running time exported .mov 24fps file but it is not true. My final file, based on DCP making company, is 23.98 fps! how could this happen? – I exported using quick time with setting of apple pro res 422 24p 48Khz. or maybe this 24 p means 23.98?

It is so strange. Maybe I calculated the timeline sequence wrong?

The FCP 7timeline sequence I used to export the quicktime is from timecode (read on Canvas) 00:59:20:00 to 2:36:00:04. I check the sequence setting and it did say editing timebase 23.98.

I was wishing you were right though! Because my exported 24 fps file is a few seconds longer than 23.98fps fcp sequence…

I have one more question to ask you, if the sequence setting is apple ProRes 422, when I export quicktime movies, should I keep the export setting the same? or if the export setting ProRes 422 HQ would be better in producing DCP files?
