    Hi Amanda,

From what I have read, others who have purchased the deal for v13 + free v14 upgrade, did not have to show purchase of a prior Vegas Pro. This would get you an extra copy of v13 now, and free update to v14 in September, and then the upgrade deal they release in September for your current v13 would get you the initial copy.

    Hi Tony,

If your preview window isn’t full screen, right click anywhere within the preview window video and de-select ‘Scale video to fit preview window’ This will zoom in a bit, depending on the size you have the preview window set for. I’m not sure why you want to zoom-in, so not sure if this helps!

    Hi Scott,

Is Vegas combining the fields into frames? That would appear to be the case.

Yes, as all video handlers, NLE and viewers, do. When playing, it first goes to how many frames per second, then how each frame is displayed. If progressive, the entire frame is displayed. If interlaced, the upper (or first) field is displayed followed by the lower (bottom) field to complete the frame (or it could be lower and then upper, and which one displays first is in the video file specification). Well, that was a very short explanation with the science removed (meaning it is maybe 90% correct), but I think that simplifies the explanation.

    Hi Scott,

I started a new Vegas Pro 13 project and matched properties to your sample source media. It set the frame rate at 29.970, the field order at upper field first. MediaInfo shows ProRes 422 HQ, bit rate 159 Mbps, frame rate 29.970, Interlaced, top field first. Everything seems normal.

I use an Atomos Samurai Blade. When I record ProRes 422 HQ 29.970 progressive and match media in Vegas Pro 13, it comes up interlaced! I just always change the project properties to (none) progressive scan. This is also the case when I record Avid DNxHD 29.970 progressive.

    Did this help any?

July 5, 2016 at 6:32 pm in reply to: MAGIX and 26M people in the Sony email database

26 million is more than I would have guessed. Of course Magix will apply their own business model logic to the database. If it were me, I would bit the bullet on the cost of having a company send out initial emails (ghosted as to have been sent from Magix servers), then keep track of current and recent responses from both their email systems, the SCS email system and the initial announcement emails. Of course there would also be a logical break date, no telling how far back the SCS databased goes, but I would think going back at least 10-15 years would be worth the cost and effort.
