Without seeing exactly what you are seeing it is hard to determine if what you are seeing is abnormal to me. For you it is easier because you are comparing two computers that you have at hand.
But, even though your new computer may be more powerful than your old, it could be the difference in the GPU between the two. If you provide some specs between the two computers, someone may have a suggestion.
BTW, it not “Sony Vegas Pro 15”, as the last version Sony produced was 13. It is now Magix Vegas pro 15, with the latest version being 16.
Also, if you are not on the latest build (click on ‘Help’, click on ‘About’) which is build 416, you may want to update to this latest build to see if that makes an improvement. Magix is making slow improvement on their Vegas Pro to utilize more and more GPU’s so the preview and renders are smoother and better. If this doesn’t make a difference, you could also download the free trial version of Vegas Pro 16 see test with your source media and see if that makes an improvement.

As Ole suggested you can use Handbrake to correct the ShadowPlay footage for this project, or possibly use Vegas Pro to render intermediates, either way, this will get you through this project. When you have the source media converted simply replace the originals in your project with the intermediates and render your delivery final….done!
In the future use OBS to record your footage, which will record in constant frame rate (this was also mentioned in the link that Ole provided).

The key to your answer is download the free 30 day trial and test it first hand. You are going to get mixed messages from others here, which will have some value, but nothing is going to beat seeing it yourself.
I still play around with Vegas Pro 16 and keep updating the builds. It is getting more stable. I also do my actual video editing in DaVinci Resolve 15, which for me is more suitable and stable than any Vegas Pro version I have used. On the other hand, Resolve also has problems for some users. I doubt there is an NLE worth using that doesn’t have problems for some users.

Graham, good suggestion, I forgot about that. It could be the round about work around he needs. The Mercalli 4 is also available in a plug-in for Vegas. I have both. While he is there, it may be just better to run the motion correction and be done with it.

Well…as far as I’m aware, there is no such FX or script feature that would identify what you want. Depending on how much movement you want to discover you may be able to speed up the preview to make detections faster. Perhaps others here will have a better suggestions.

So far after installing the Happy Otter Scripts (HOS), I downloaded your tutorials for Slow Motion and Stabilization. My comparisons are far from scientific just a one after the other or side-by-side viewing and first impressions.
I compared the slow motion between ProDad ReSpeedr, Twixtor and HOS. My impression was that HOS was better than ReSpeedr and almost as good as Twixtor.
I compared the stabilization between Sony Vegas Stabilize (I think that is version 1 or 2 of Mercalli), Magix Vegas Video Stabilization, Mercalli 4 Vegas Plugin, and HOS. My impression was that HOS was far better to use than Sony Vegas Stabilization (no surprise there), far better than Magix Video Stabilizer, and as good as Mercalli 4 Vegas Plugin.
I rendered comparison samples in HOS by simply fallowing the step and settings as in the tutorials, and pretty much the default setting in the other Sony, Magix, Twixtor and ProDad tools. Using the HOS stabilizer I did need to apply a slight amount of cropping to eliminate a very slight black border left after processing, but the results was I had more viewing area left than any of the others, a small price to pay for avoiding the deep cropping from Sony or Magix stabiliation and even a small increase in viewing area compared the the Mercalli 4 Plugin.
Next I interested in the rendering options. At this point I hope the interest and further development will bring these tools to the market. Great job Wayne, Thank You.

Another option that was just posted today is Happy Otter Scripts. It is a combination of scripting tools for various jobs within Vegas and has a Slow Motion feature. Currently it is available as a free beta with possible release as a finished product this coming year.
I downloaded it a few hours ago and tested out the Slow Motion feature which was quite impressive. Here is the link to the posting

Wayne Waag is a long time supporter of Vegas Pro and the community and a good guy. He has on the website also some tutorials, so you may want to download/view the one on slow motion before trying it out.

Thank You Wayne for the honest answer and I understand. I have tested the Slow Motion feature and it works pretty slick. In the next few weeks I will be diving into other features. And, Thank You for making available some short tutorials to help get us started. Without testing the real meat of your project, it just may be the tools that bring me back to Vegas, or at least seriously consider using Vegas again.
