Shane’s link has gone bad. Does anyone know where I can find this material? Alternatively, can someone please explain how to apply a filter to all cuts of an active angle? I ran into a problem applying a filter to an angle of a multiclip that is already on the timeline. The technique described in the manual does not work – effects get applied only to one instance of the active angle, not to all cuts of the angle. Or am I dreaming and expecting to get too much?
If you still think that FxPlugs are for transitions, look at idustrial revolution Freebies 1.0 that can be downloaded with FxFactory. Yes, unlike DH Box, free.
For my modest purposes, iDive from Aquafadas is enough, for your department you are likely to need something like CatDV from http://www.squarebox.co.uk. Trial version is available.
Not sure bumping RAM will help because FCP cannot use more than 4 GB of it. It may help in separate cases when you have other RAM-hungry applications open though.
Be careful because it is now Final Cut Pro 6 and not 5. The material you have learned from your book may be in part outdated. Weynand’s “FCP 6” is the current standard in the exam preparation.
“Final Cut Pro 6” by Diana Weynand is an Apple-approved book for FCP training. It has 14 lessons with questions for self-testing after each lesson. If you are able to answer 80 per cent or so of these questions, take the certification exam.
