FCP Certification Exam Cram
Posted by Waverly Moss on August 24, 2007 at 2:53 amHaving just finished all 21 lessons in the Peachtree Press Editing Professional Video book, I’d like to take a shot at the certification exam. At $150 a pop, I don’t want to risk not passing. Do you know of any reliable exam test guides for the FCP certification exam?

“Final Cut Pro 6” by Diana Weynand is an Apple-approved book for FCP training. It has 14 lessons with questions for self-testing after each lesson. If you are able to answer 80 per cent or so of these questions, take the certification exam.
Good luck,

Hi George,
It is Diana Weyland’s Final Cut Pro book that I just completed, but it was for FCP 5. In it are 21 lessons, with supplied media, but no real test questions at the end of the lesson. I am probably ready, or will be with some review, but I just wanted to make sure I didn’t show up for the test ill-prepared and spend the $150 learning what it is I need to know for the test, if you know what I mean.
I appreciate all the responses, and it sounds like there isn’t a separate test prep book or booklet, so I’ll just review what I learned in Diana’s text and go take the test.
Thanks again to everyone for the help.

Be careful because it is now Final Cut Pro 6 and not 5. The material you have learned from your book may be in part outdated. Weynand’s “FCP 6” is the current standard in the exam preparation.
Best,
George
