February 26, 2018 at 11:20 pm in reply to: Vegasaur 3 transcoder region tool freezes vegas pro 15Hi Mark,
unfortunately, Vegas crashes as soon as I hit the add job button. The script batch render in Vegas works, but it’s weird that Vegasaur’s batch render tool is dead. I have a support request in at Vegasuar, but no word back yet.
So far, all the other Vegasaur 3 tools I use seem to work.

October 17, 2016 at 1:29 am in reply to: Anyone, trying, liking, thinking about DaVinci Resolve?I bought the suite with an eye towards exiting towards the Edius/Resolve combo. Like others, the rendering/crashing of Vegas is rapidly moving me to the exit. Having to submit a support ticket to Boris just to register their product is the type of maze one has come to expect when working within Vegas.
That said, the preview window does seem to work a whole lot better than 13. 14 seems more stable. I haven’t rendered yet, but I knew going in, that was going to be slow. Cutting in 14, finishing in Resolve is my planned route for the next year. My guess is folks such as myself who are considering an exit, are more likely to have bought the suite than the edit version simply because it is hard to justify the upgrade cost for Vegas by itself.
I’m familiar with node based editing, so Resolve doesn’t scare me. For me it is going to come down to how well Boris works within Vegas, if they can fix the stability and improve rendering/gpu support, I’ll keep buying.

semi-solved driver issue, by reinstalling the drivers using the repair function, which persuaded the computer to recognize the pcmcia slot, so I can pull files that way. This did not get the USB2 connection to function again. That is still non-functional after previously working.
Baby steps. But it does seem the pcmcia card will function if you double install the drivers – meaning install drivers – expect a fail, reinstall drivers, select repair, and away it goes. Worked with two pcmcia cards on two different machines.
Good luck.

Solved!
Big thanks. It was actually a crashed plug-in, but I didn’t find that until I opened preferences to change the ram, which was set at 200 and I was unable to change the value or close the preferences window. Hmmm. Then I noticed the error tab…I installed the new version of the plugin, Vegasaur, problem solved.

thanks, sounds like what you are saying is the drives may just not work on the pc side.

Thanks for the response,
singular isn’t really what I’m looking for, but the other 4 are with additional useful functions. They also have a split audio function which I also need for this one. It’s worth to me to spend the money.Reading the additional feature sets, I can see which one is best for my immediate needs and I’ll buy that one now.
thanks,

understood,
I figured it out. Where is the magic make work button? Found it.
thanks,

Big thanks!
Looking at the wirecast site, I didn’t see a 720 steam listed on anything but the pro. -
Hi johnathan,
somehow, I thought it was going to be something like that. I’ve already contacted avid and I’ll head back to the company and see what they say. If this stuff can’t be made legal, it does make it easy to assign a dollar value. As a Vegas user, the thought of using an avid disk as a coffee coaster does have a certain perverse appeal.
Thanks for the quick response,
Gavin. -
Hi,
this comes up quite a bit and unless things have changed with vegas 6 you can’t do it directly with vegas.videohelp has all the tools you need.
basically, to use vegas, you need to decript,to your hard-drive, change the file extentions from .vob to mpg, then demux the audio, meaning extact the audio into a file that Vegas can read and then reattach the video and audio file on the timeline.
Just understand if you use Vegas, you are recompressing files that are already compressed, meaning reduced quality.
