    Yeah.
I thought trashing my preferences would fix it to. No luck.

I think this may be an Intel Mac flaw. I know I’m running into a lot of conflicts with my AfterEffects CS2 and the Intel Mac.

Quick response to a couple of replies.

I did try switching to the rear Firewire port. Got the same results. Spoke with a tech support guy at Final Cut Pro. He says front or back port shouldn’t matter unless the front port happens to be damaged.

He did add that both the HDV deck and camera I am using is rated for FCP. Though it has only been qualified for 1080i50 and not the i60. Again, he didn’t think that should have been the hang up.

We tried both the deck and importing directly from the camera and got the same results.

We’re on to our next theory. Maybe someone can confirm if we’re on the right track. Which is… While we did shoot in HDV and playback confirms this, we did not use an HDV tape. We used a regular DV tape. It does playback fine in both camera and HDV deck. And both show during playback that it is recorded in HDV mode. Is it possible that the only hang up is that we recorded to a DV tape?

Attempt to connect firewire directly to my IntelMac got the same results.

It is an almost direct firewire connection. The firewire is going through a firewire switcher that allows us three Producer/Directors to share the same deck.
