I guess I assumed the drivers & control panel were loaded earlier when I originally put the system together.

On AJA’s support pages, they have sooo many drivers to choose from, and I see that many are specific to Final Cut. If there’s a specific one for the M-100 that you know of that, that would help. The one that I see that seems to be NOT-specific is dated from ’06; but then that’s a diver that’s been around a while.

    Thanks, Floh.

I’ve trashed all the prefs, but the same error code still taunts me. I’ve been trying to research the AJA control panel, but it’s not coming up in a search through the MAC, and I can’t ever recall seeing it before.

I just pitched the Current Configuration prefs. So the others are s’posed to get trashed too?

My AJA card shows up as pcif1d0,c0fe.

    Yeah…

Trashing the preferences was my first move, but it didn’t result in a different outcome. I reloaded the M-100 software (12.1.3) but still no luck.

I’m based in the OC, but go where the opportunities are. Do you need an editor with a system or just an editor?

I’ve got my time line set for NTSC 601 4:3.

The original footage was an AE comp that was set for NTSC D1 (720×486) non-square.

Rendered from AE out to the M100 NTSC-720 codec, 720×486

    Thanks Michael…

I did copy over the entire CONTENTS folder, but still wasn’t enough. Fortunately, Floh had some good “suggestions” that worked! 😉

    Hey Floh…

Thanks again for the additional info on how to get the P2 into my M100.

You also mentioned that I should be able to play it in a QT player, but so far I haven’t had success doing that (even with the codecs installed). An error message keeps coming back saying it’s not a movie file. Is there a different procedure for opening it in QT?

    Thanks Floh…

    Some additional info:

I’m currently running QT 7.4.1 (14), but I’m not able to open or play any P2 files in the QT application.

I did copy over the entire CONTENTS folder from the P2 card so everything is there and available.

I have been able to play the files in After Effects CS3.

I don’t recall hearing/reading any information that you needed to acquire a codec from FCP in order to view the files in Media 100.

Hmmm….. So, where can one get this codec (without buying FC)?

Thanks, but I’ve already visited the display menu with no success.

Since posting this query, I’ve talked with Panasonic Tech Support. They began with the same simple response… until they tried it and discovered the same results: you cannot send the OSD out through the video out or firewire. Can we make this a user-selectable feature? Can we make this a fix through the software update feature?
