after contacting Maxon about it, it’s been determined to be a bug which they’ll be addressing in a future update.

Discovered this myself this week when we upgraded to R19 here.

But also noticed that it’s rendering out an additional alpha matte movie, “A_ xxx” regardless of what checkboxes are checked or not. Anyone else experience this?

Continuous Rasterize can definitely make things go wonky sometimes and should be avoided at the design stage whenever possible.
If you can somehow pre-render the gradient that would probably help.
or rather than use a gradient, use a mask to fade into the background color (or a track matte to fade it)

I think it’d dependent on your cards I/O/settings

I know that in the Blackmagic Video preview setup in AE, there’s a setting to scale-up or scale-down an irregular size comp to still display on the playback monitor (tho if the aspect ratio changes, it might look funky)
