That depends on a lot of factors, mainly how fast your CPUs are compared to your GPU, and which effect you’re using. Rays and Edge Rays, for instance, should be quite a lot faster, as will many of the warps. Simple color effects are already quite fast on the CPU, so you won’t see much benefit from GPU acceleration there; it takes some time to get the images to the GPU and back. And of course if you have a screaming-fast 12-core Haswell-CPU monster, it’ll be hard even for a K6000 with 2880 cores to beat it by all that much. (Though the K6000 is really amazingly fast.) The 660 isn’t a bad card at all though, with 960 cores. With some effects you should see very nice speedups.
Hope that helps;

Hi Lyudmil; Sapphire uses CUDA but it’s internal to the effects, so you won’t see the acceleration icon in Premiere Pro. But it should render lots faster with CUDA checked in the Sapphire Help dialog than without. If not, please email support@genarts.com and we’ll help you out – could be a driver problem or something else.

March 11, 2013 at 8:04 pm in reply to: General Previewing problem with Sapphire on AE CS4 MacHi Jonas;
Generally this problem is caused by using an unlicensed or incorrectly licensed version of Sapphire. I am sure that is not the case here, but usually in cases like this, the next step is to look up the licensing information in our database and then work with you directly to resolve the issue (which can be as simple as reissuing your old license). Hence, drop us a note with the license information at support@genarts.com and we’ll make sure this gets fixed.
Thanks

Sapphire should certainly be able to give you a nice glow on your coins; use S_Glow. It was used for Frodo’s sword in LoTR, for instance. As long as the background is darker than the highlights on the coins, even a quick garbage mask around them ought to give you a good result.

Hi Nenad; I suggest you contact GenArts support; they can help figure out what’s going on. Those two effects do have to be rendered “in order” (one frame after the other), or they don’t give correct results, which may be what’s going on. You can submit a support request from our form at https://www.genarts.com/webforms/genarts-support-form.

Hi Kazumi; thanks for reporting this. This can happen if your NVIDIA video driver is too old. We will have a fix in the next Sapphire AE maintenance release, but in the meantime you can just update your NVIDIA video driver and you should be all set.
