I think we’re done with line-skipping. The GH2 has a better way to downscale the image information from the sensor, I bet the Nikon has something similar, and I bet the next generation of Canon DSLRs won’t have that issue either.

It’s possible that your hard drive is dying as well. If OSX can’t easily read or write data to the disk, it would slow everything down tremendously.

No, but Adobe/AVID weren’t touting an App Store release as a way to roll out patches even faster. Doesn’t seem like Apple has released any patches faster than the other two.

First, the headline is misleading. One wedding videographer was sued. And that one wedding videographer had created a wedding video for a sports celebrity and put it online. It got played on ESPN and other networks, and that’s when he suddenly had a problem.
So if you are shooting celebrities and getting national airtime with your wedding video, you had better be careful. Otherwise, until we start hearing about Jim Bob and Sue Ellen’s wedding videographer getting sued, I don’t see why this can’t be business as usual.

I would assume (I have not seen the video at all) that it’s a multi-cam shoot, and if so, FCPX would have been a huge pain to deal with in that situation.

I think you might be wrong as well, but only because I don’t see a reason Apple would fool with this considering that 10.7 is more than likely going to be the end of OSX, with everything merging to the iOS platform and more iPad/iPhone like devices.

[CNET]An anonymously sourced report from AppleInsider in October suggested that Apple’s seen a sharp decline in sales of the workstations, which begin at $2,499 in the U.S., and that the drop has led executives to reconsider whether it’s worth continuing to invest in the product.
Of course there’s been a sharp decline in sales of the current Mac Pro. It’s out of date and everyone’s waiting for the new model.
Still think that Apple may not refresh the line.

Yeah, I highly doubt Apple had a completed FCP 8 then just pulled the plug.
