I’m new to FCP after many years on M100. If footage is shot on DVCAM and captured component 10 bit uncompressed via AJA, is quality better or worse than firewire capture in DV? Seems like 10 bit uncompressed component captures lots more information since the capture files are so much larger. -
I swapped e-mails with the folks at Boris today and they suggested downloading a trial version of FX8 and Graffiti 4 before I buy. They indicated that the interface with FCP is a “bit different” than M100. I will be interested in knowing your thoughts after your purchase.

I wonder how many people are in my situation. I’ve been “on the fence” about moving from M100 to FCP for two years now. I’m comfortable with all the good things that M100 does, but it’s been stagnant for too long. A revitalized M100 would certainly be of interest. But I can’t wait forever.
