Okay, but how do you know it has completed the pre render, as I ran one the other day, and there was no indication that it had completed?

Okay, then what is the purpose of pre rendering?

Okay, I was able to drag it over, and adjust to a decent resolution, but it is such a small preview screen. I can expand it somewhat, but then it loses resolution. Is there anyway to be able to expand it to a large image on the HDTV and yet still keep a decent resolution.
Surely, this is not how one would want to edit a feature film.

Okay, I zoomed in, and it opened everything up. Nothing like working with a professional production to learn this program!

Okay, I’ll keep this in mind. I ended up converting the file to Mp4 and it worked, meaning that at least I was able to import it. But now, when I drag the file onto the timeline the video doesn’t show any individual frames. It plays normally through video preview, but on the timeline for the first 10 minutes it just shows black. I have set thumbnails to all. After the black there are thumbnails spread out over the 1.3hours, but no frames. ???

Yes. that’s exactly what I’m looking for, thanks. Obviously, I don’t know the program. But is there a software program that is widely used for creating graphics that are then imported into Vegas, or is the program comphrehensive enough that little importing is done?
