Thank you for noticing, not many do.
I kept it with in the cache system on the drives, performance is always about having the system tuned regardless of the content you are working with.

you are kidding right?
the apple store lists the 12 TB unit for $2499.00 (US) ( that is $208 perTB)
just 5 short years ago that 12T would have cost about $ 15,0000 Us
to attain those read write speeds over fiber will cost a user about 3X -5X as much (depending on fiber card)

SInce the Drobo unit is not yet shipping and the Promise Pegasus has a proven track record why is it an issue?
The Pegasus does allow you to swap out drives- just purchase a couple of extra trays.
You cannot expect just any unit to achieve these kind of read write speeds using just anybodies plain old drives that you have lying around however
My Pegasus as 3T Sata3 disks at 15K RPM- this sample data rate was achieved using a current gen MBP_Retina with 16G ram and SSD drives

Nope.
Those type of HDMI sources are protected from digitizing from under HDCP rules and restrictions.

Yes, it does on the unibody designs- my wife spilled liquid on her Air and the replacement unit was discounted and it does cover discounted display repairs- the most comon damage.
As has been said, a “marine” insurance policy is used to cover most electronics and camera equiptment, line item the laptop on your insurance and then you are only out the deductable for replacement.

If you are talking about Applecare- that covers a limited amount of physical damage ( like a reduced replacement charge if you spill liquids). I would recommed it for anyone new to owning a laptop, or if you plan on being on location more than 30% of the time you are on it. That way if something happens when you are on the road, you can get expedited repairs from some of the larger apple stores.

It was because Iridas developed the Speedgrade App on the Windows Platform and since the Adobe acquisition was only in September of last year , there was not even a full year of development with the Adobe team.
Speedgrade is still using the default Video-out engine that Iridas developed prior to acquisition and that was around using GPU acceleratiling Nvidia boards with an HDSI daugther card
However, undoing all of that originial work to allow access into the Adobe Transmit schema, needed more time that the CS6 launch date allowed.
That structure IMHO will assume the best attributes of both the Adobe Suite and Speedgrade, parts of which you can see already with huge chunks of the Iridas code within the Native support for both R3D and ARRIRAW native formats inside of Premier and AE.
Iridas was always a leader in handling RAW and Stereo3Ds workflow and one of the first to support natively handling the RAW formats for grading, it will just take a little while to intergrate all of the technology into the Adobe Suite.

I was one of those speakers ( ATL, DC, ORL) and while I did mention Speedgrade, it will take Adobe a little longer to be able to make Speedgrade Video out accessable on anything other than the Nvida card on the Windows versions, this was the same as when the app was still an Iridas Product.
When it happens, it will be big news, because video out from Speedgrade is a high priotity item for Adobe.

Thats because you are using a video device that is controling your video output.
Try setting the Monitor to see the video signal as YPrPb video rather than Display RGB. I have this issue all the time with projectors ( many of which will NOT allow the change)
