Unfortunately the OpenGL didn’t change the problem. I’ve added Force Motion Blur which softens the effect enough to make me happy to go ahead and use it for broadcast. As expected it increases the render time but it solves the problem & on this occasion we have the time to spare.

    Thanks for the advice.

Interesting. This I haven’t considered. I’ll check the OpenGL when I’m back at work tomorrow. CCFMB I originally wanted to add as regular motion blur doesn’t register but I knew this would increase renders significantly. I’d use it as a last resort on the final piece if this OpenGL check doesn’t alter it. Will update then.

    Thanks

  • It’s that easy?

I’m shamed. Thanks for this. I am trying to distress some video to try to achieve a look of a bad encoding & splitting the RGB channels to bring colour into the piece. Tieing the H & V together keeps the square look.

    Cheers 🙂

Thanks for the advice & direction. The project in general is back with the client for overall approval so I have time to think about how to approach this specific section before sitting back in front of it.

Once it’s back with me I will give you idea a try. This is a technique I have always wanted to try. To have 3D text ‘alive’ within a filmed environment reacting to the camera, but I am probably making life difficult for myself :-S. Time will tell…..

    Cheers

Fantastic info both of you, thanks. I am still non the wiser with gfx cards. I do have that G4, the mirror door version. One card I have in at the moment is used to drive my dual screens a ATY RV250, whatever that means. I’ll ring around a couple of suppliers & see what guidance I can get. I have looked at the Adobe site, relating to AE. Would those cards still work with my old kit?

Right, er…. thanks for that. I’ll bear that in mind.

Thanks for the heads-up Steve on where to look. I only come here for the AE forum (shame on me!) so it’s just knowing where to turn & what to search for. I’ve now got good some pointers, I seem to have been heading in the right direction, so I can go back & make it longer with a slightly larger window.

    Cheers.

yeah, un-stuffed it. I have all these plug-ins temptingly close but they just don’t registar in the programme. I have place them in HD/applications/adobe/AE5.5/Plug-ins/Standard folder so they are in the same place as other but still nothing.

I have quit the programme a number of times & shifted folders but still nothing.

There is nothing else I need to run these is there?
