  • Showreel for site – Best output for file size?

Apologies if this should be in the Basics Forum but I have a question regarding a movie I will host on my web-site. My current showreel: https://fieldandpost.tv/workmotion.htm is just under 30 secs long but I want to effectively double this but without compromising on frame size (currently 288 x 162) nor double the physical file size (2.68mb)

What is my best option to get a detailed image with an okay frame rate that will can play from a decent file size when outputing? I have not had any formal web training (hence my standard looking web-site) so this kind of info might be basic to some but I need some pointers.

    Thanks.

I’d hit the compression techniques forum for this one.

You could also search the COW for “sorenson” and “web”, just for some ideas.

Man, you really need to improve your demoreel’s audio quality. It’s better a bigger file sith good audio than a smaller, but bad audio quality.
    Just my opinion.

Right, er…. thanks for that. I’ll bear that in mind.

Thanks for the heads-up Steve on where to look. I only come here for the AE forum (shame on me!) so it’s just knowing where to turn & what to search for. I’ve now got good some pointers, I seem to have been heading in the right direction, so I can go back & make it longer with a slightly larger window.

    Cheers.

Just wanted to say that it looks like you’re doing some great work! I didn’t really have a problem with the audio at all, and actually liked it quite a bit. Keep up the good job!
