    Hi Uli,

    your way with QtChange is only possible just before starting to edit, or is it possible to add TC after?

    And Darren way to fit is good way of fixing after everithing is edited. Except case I can not import EDL from Vegas/Premiere roundtrip, just Avid can and Avid can not change (Reel) Tape name.

    Isnt there just possibility to overvrite manualy EDL in TextEdit? Change name to ### digits?

    Last question, what should be set in Davinci CONFIG – TIMELINE CONFORM OPTION????

    I found this interesting used on Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in very light way, but when I tried to lift blacks it loosed contrast…

    do you mean to mask the highlights witht luma key and raise the gamma with lift up a little?

  • Dont know ntsc coz Im from europe but its good to know 🙂 My sentiment is to shoot b/w. Not only reference monitor will tell how its done. Got one realy cheap acer monitor on which I watch movies just to compare. The case with fcp gamma exports is just bridge how to handle grading compromises, coz its needed to downconvert to DVD. Btw every movie on this cheap monitor got nice picture, maybe a little over saturated but nice. What I have just done looks not nice on acer, and after conversion to h264 odd. On samsung syncmaster washedout but still interesting and on jvc like the new clip I saw today on mtv, nice. As Im used to tape workflow Im just curious, wouldnt be the best way to finalize DVD to send hdmi signal directly from fcp to dvd recorder? And wouldnt be that the highest quality finalization?

    JVC is conected through blacmagic intensity pro HDMI output. Thank you for good tip to verify DVD, yes its logical. But another question, if I do a DVD I would appreciate that it looks good +- on each display, not just on JVC.

    I would like to reply your post. I did full HD sequence in apple prores 422 HQ, graded in Color, using JVC pro grading monitor DT-V17G1Z with gamma set to 2.2. Secound monitor Samsung SyncMaster T240 is set to match JVC DT-V17G1Z as close as it can. I did edit some years in Avid but that doesnt matter now. I got problems to get good DVD export from FCP even Compressor coz of saturation failure. And yes I tried a lot but for me as profesional is not acceptable to make 10 random export from COLOR to match 1 DVD export. My question is what would THE profesionals from FCP or Apple COLOR advice whats THE WORKFLOW TO FINALIZE PROFESIONAL DVD? Doesnt matter what aplication to use just tell me how 🙂 Thanks.
