guys,
I am training for resolve and conforming is one of my biggest lack at the moment …how do you handle and edit that have several layers of compositing and dissolve ?
do you export all layers as independent edl and grade the elements (layers)separately ?
i always ask to flatten to 1 layer of edl as much as the editor can , but most of the time a complex edit require a minimum of 3 o 4 layer …resolve is not able to rebuild that kind of complex edit right ?
thanks

January 9, 2011 at 3:51 pm in reply to: HD to SD conversion “flicker free” with DaVinci?did you ever compared the results out of resolve to a deck (like SR or D5) downcoversion ?
in the past i compared D5 , compressor, and SCRATCH ,
D5 won but Scratch results was pretty close using the lanzcos filter (compressor with frame control on was worse …)

do you need realtime downconversion or by render?the realtime downconversion by the BM card should not be high quality …i mean , decks or teranex box should do high quality job … but i am wondering how is considered the algorithm of resolve for render out SD….(i never did some tests )
