  • Tudor!

Mii de multumiri (many thanks in Romanian)!!

Yes that makes much sense. The trouble seems to be the different takes on the world coordinates.
I am using maxon’s CINEMA 4D exporter plugin for AE and that seems to be taking care of the comp’s size, settings, coordinates and even camera lens values etc.
And also the plugin saves all the info into a c4d file.

Thanks a ton for all your help!

  • Thanks Tudor!

Strange thing happened. I could swear that the camera was under the floor in the 3d view in my camera tracking in AE. I initially zeroed out the master null (per certain tutorials that expand on exporting AE cameras into Cinema 4d).
Then I went back to the default position of the master null (x720,y540) and the camera looks normal now:

But still when I export the file via CAMERA 4D exporter plugin, there the camera is upside down(see caption below):

the funny thing that on a previous project things worked well.

    thanks again!

ps: your name sound Romanian! So does mine!

    Todd –

bingo! That did it.I did this before but when I double clicked the resulted clip in the time line, it brought me to the nested sequence instead o having it opened in the viewer. All I had to do is just that – right click and “Open in viewer” – an I was able to apply the fx –

    thanks a bunch!

    Thanks Todd…

but… I am still in the same dilemma in the precomp – suspecting that you are talking about nesting sequences… right?

    thanks,
    Gabi

[Louise Macaulay] “When you create a new project and project folder, is there a way to have FCP automatically save the render files for that project in the same location?

If so, will the render manager still work later, assuming all external drives are connected?”

Usually you set the scratch discs (including save cache, render, etc) to that particular project folder this way everything will be in one place.

Thanks a lot Dan & Andrew!

Makes great sense! I also like the idea of having the fcp on th elocal drive than moving it to the external hard drive just in case…

    thanks!!
    Gabi.
