Hi!
As he films nature he usualy only saves around 10% of the footage from the Nanoflash. The files that is ingested using Prelude is also backed up on separate harddiscs when ihe done ingesting.
I suggested that he should transfer the CF cards to a temp folder, then ingest using Prelude but he wan´t to do it directly from the CF cards to save time and space.

Hi!
A update on this issue. After rediting the timeline is it playing ok. But when i try to export to XDCAM HD 720/50p 422 i always get a unexpected error after around 12%. Tried to export to another format(P2, uncompressed etc) but no luck.
So i have a timeline of MFX files that plays ok even on my monitor (using Matrox MXO mini) but cant be exported.
How to solve this?Fredrik Brofalk

Hi!
Hopefully will he only do some simple edits and some housekeeping on his footage in separate bins. He works on a MAC with a removable drive. Will i have problems when i connect his drive to my PC workstation?

So why a P2 slot? Can´t the SDHC cards cope with a AVCINTRA50 or even 100 stream? So just update the camera with a better codec.

If you only are going to do some simple edits and grafics is native DV the way to go.

If you have a lot of layers and grafics it can be wise to use a better codec for renders. It also depends what your output is.

You need a tru edit recorder with RS-422 remote control. And there is no HDV deck that can do this what i know of.
You need to step up to XDCAM HD or HDCAM to find a a edit HD recorder.
Can´t you just ftp them a file?

Hi!
We are now leaning towards the Matrox solution but no decisions made yet. Many thanks for your input.
Dave! Nice to see some ex Edit* users here as well. Third time to change our NLE. Edit* -> Liquid Edition (that AVID bought and later eol´d) -> Adobe CS. As we are a PC campus we belive that CS4 will bring us the right tools. But i´m for shure is missing edit* as a editor. But thats is now history.
As axio has no HDMI output (needed for one monitor) i wonder if there is a problem with using a SDI to HDMI convertor. Delay, quality etc.

Hi!
How is FCP supporting DVCPRO HD native? Heard that Premiere Pro supported native DVCPRO HD 720/50P when using the Matrox Axio family of cards.
Thanks for your input!
