Try ‘track motion’ and ‘2D Shadow’.

This way you can customize and animate the character shadow.

I have Win 7 64 bits and Vegas 10 works OK. You don’t need any extra drivers.

Uninstall the driver package and see if it works. If not, that probably means that your driver pack broke Vegas drivers. Maybe you will need to uninstall and reinstall Vegas.

I am using Vegas Pro 10 in Windows 7 64bits. I updated to SP1 and no issues so far with Vegas.

    Thank you John.

I have tested that approach, but the light beam lights all the screen and not only the text or the logo to be highlighted.

Thank you John for your response.

I have done the changes suggested and there isn’t any improvement.

I have rechecked the entire AVI-DV video and I see video artifacts everywhere, the problem is more noticeable in ProType Titles, but it is presents in normal text too and even certain details of video and images.

The video looks perfect when rendered to MPGE-2. But the Client requires delivery in MiniDV tape, and to print to tape I must render to AVI.

Do you know of any other tool to decently convert from MPG2 to AVI-DV?

I did the same you tried: copied from Vegas 10 to Vegas 9, and it worked.

So it seems the render presets are compatible backward, but not forward (from Vegas 9 to Vegas 10).
