What deck are you capturing from? Are you using the component in on the AJA Io LA?
Try using the “NTSC US Betacam 10 bit uncompressed” setting. -

FCP can’t run at all on the new imacs yet! The universal binary version that will allow FCP to run on the new intel based macs will not be released for another month (31st march). So being that the new imacs are intel based, there is no way of telling yet how well FCP will run on it.

It’s not so much a “Wireless camera” that you need but more a wireless transmitter that you could attach to the camera to send a video signal out of the camera to a receiver set up next to your PC NLE. I would call around a few rental houses or broadcast specialty facilities in your area to see what they have available. This link has some interesting products.

When you use the “non-controllable device” setting you lose timecode. Why not try using the “DVCPro HD Firewire” device control setting?

Go to Modify>timecode, and change the value there.

Maybe I’m mistaken but I was under the impression that 59.94 is not a timecode but a frequency reference or a “frame rate” reference of interlaced fields per second. So even selecting a rate of 59.94 you are still actually running at a timecode of 29.97 which can be NDF or DF.
Also DF timecode does not actually drop frames, it just skips or does not count frame numbers 0 & 1 the first second of every minute, except every tenth minute. -
You need to use media manager!. I suggest you read chapters 7 & 8 of Volume IV in FCP 5 manual. It will explain how to do it. Make sure you read it carefully so you dont inadvertantly delete any of your file you will actually need.

I believe the i-mic is capable of stereo.
