Thanks for that but I am clueless about Automator. The tutorial seems to be showing the Automator in action but not how to program it. Will this work with commands and not just TEXT fill ins?

Let me add my additional concerns over the complete lack of actual editing based preferences in Premiere. The ability to customize or alter the way Adobe has decided I should edit is quite unsettling. I came in with high hopes for Premiere, what with its After Effects, encoding and Photoshop integration. If Adobe is reading this I would love to get on a user panel to suggest many improvements to the editing interface of Premiere. I do lots of real world editing and there are some glaring problems with this software.

Actually I did try turning off Open GL with the same result. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT. Doesn’t that get updated automatically with the Mac software updates?
I turned off all shadows on all objects and it renders with no issues. Of course no shadows is a crappy way to go. The whole point of 3D is realistic environmental shadows…

Yes my muscle memory is locked to Command-M.
But in a larger OS10.6 sense I have no use for a command that puts individual windows into the dock then to get them back you have to go to the dock and click on them. When an entire app goes to the dock you can retieve it by using Command-Tab-Option. This doesn’t work for these lonely little windows.

I can’t seem to find where Command-M is spoken for in any system prefs. Any idea where to look?
This happened with 10.5 as well.

All great points. But none of those great features actually make the basic job of editing any easier. I have my issues with basic interface.
I am no Avid fanboy by any means. They still can’t match frame to a clip with an alpha channel (a precompute, what ever that means).

Cut and Paste keyframes would be an awesome ability too.

    All true, thanks for that.
I was hoping there was a keystroke for Capture Clip so I could be in Log & Capture and Mark In, Mark Out and Capture Clip without using the mouse.

Cost is the reason 95% of the world went with PC instead of Mac. Better system? I would say no, but that is up to the individual.
Personally, I don’t see Avid surviving other than in the highest end environments.
All I am really complaining about is the fact that Apple has essentially sat on the Pro Apps like FCP and done nothing to make it a substantially better editing application.
Compare After Effects 3.0 to AE CS4. Better? I would say so.
FCP 3 to FCP 7? Pretty much the same.
