Tom, I misspoke. I meant to ask if there was a keyboard shortcut for Capture Clip.

    Answer: Price.

I am not closed minded about the flexibility of FCP over Avid interface. But I think it is criminal that on version 7 there is still no decent keyframing controls. The answer is always ” Well if you want to do that go to Motion or some other app.”
Look at the substantive improvements Apple put in the OS10 operating system in the same time FCP went thru 7 upgrades. Other than new codecs the only improvement is colored tabs.
As far as Premiere goes, I think it is a better editing system than FCP in a lot of ways.

    You got that right!
I find FCP to be a glorified home editng system with an OS9 interface. I can’t wait for the mythical complete code re-write that would make it a true Pro app.

Very clever. I like this idea.
Is there any way to disable the POI? In many situations it is a pain to have to deal with. Some times I would like to just use camera rotation to set the shot. When I use the “C” camera controls it adds all these POI keyframes that make the motion jerky.

That doesn’t really work since POI is a XYZ coordinate in space and Focus Distance is a distance from the camera independent of spacial coordinates. The correct expression would have to be the distance between camera and POI. What would that formula be?

I guess the blur is really a fake not optical. 8,16 or 32 bit doesn’t really help either. The expression solution is a bit more than I want to get into.
On a slightly different point, what is the best way to get focal distance to follow point of interest. It seems very difficult to lock the focus on an object while the camera is moving.

I just cannot find the file on my Mac. Visible or invisible.
Thanks for all your effort to find the answer.

After searching all files visible or not there is no file that has the name of my saved keyboard layout. I have a feeling it is not possible to move this setting to another computer.
