  • Hi Riggan

You may have to go ”inside” your Nvidia GTX 970.

Before you make any changes, it’s good practice to have a copy of your previous settings in case you want to get back to your original setup. Settings are specific to each users. Don’t forget to choose which display you want to change before you start changing parameters.

To open Nvidia Control Panel, right click on your desktop, you should see it in the box.

    Hi Rafal

You are talking about the red square with the black diagonal lines, right ?

If that is the case, you have a picture that is only 60 X 60. The resolution is much to low. Get one with the biggest possible resolution/pixel count. Images will degrade when you blow them up, It is always far better to make a pic smaller than to make it bigger. One should always start with the highest quality possible.

June 21, 2018 at 11:25 pm in reply to: Glitchy Streaks In Video After Rendering

    Hi Todd

-Sometimes, rendering with GPU will create problems. There are so many GPUs out there with all kinds of configurations and numerous settings. Rendering with CPU only usually solves most, if not all, of them.

-Using the latest build means that a lot of bugs and glitches that were discovered prior builds were addressed and resolved in the newer builds.

However, if someone else is reading this thread and you do not have a legal copy of Vegas, it will most probably cause your version of Vegas to stop working. I am not saying that you have a pirated copy but for those who have and are reading this, it could create the problems that you are having…and many others.

    Hi Todd

I see that you have build 310. You may want to go with the latest build of Vegas Pro 13, 545.

    https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/ca/downloads/

Next step would be to select Render Using CPU in Encode Mode.

Let us know how it goes so that it will help the next inquiring mind.

    Hi Yan

I had the same thing happening 2 or 3 times. Couldn’t figure out why it did happen but since my projects were heavy on FX and made use of green/blue screen, I suspected a hardware problem related to memory use. (I could be wrong…) This was just guess work on my part ’cause before rendering, I rebooted my PC, rendered it and the file was free of glitches. It’s a little more time consuming but it worked for me.

    Cheers !

June 18, 2018 at 1:46 am in reply to: Question about mp4 file (corrupt sd card)

    Hi Derek

We will need more info about what’s on the card. Was the material recorded directly on that card ? If so, what was used to record it.
Was it copied from another media ? Can you see the file structure on your PC… or do you have a Apple ?

It would (in theory) help us to know what kind of MP4 is on the card (yes, there are different ones. MP4 is only a container)

    Cheers !

June 17, 2018 at 1:07 pm in reply to: 4k to FHD

    Hi Sandra

Frame size (or resolution) and aspect ration being two different things, you don’t want to uncheck “maintain aspect ratio“.
A 4K file can have different aspect ratio. Notice that only 2 of them have a ration of 16:9.

As you stated, you may have done this before and not notice the small variant in aspect ratio. Here is one way to do this.

    Original ”4K” file, imported in 1920 X 1080 project

Go to Track Motion and adjust to fill final frame size. I like to use this because sometimes you want to keep some visual info that is to one of the sides of the frame.

Some parts of the image will be lost.

    End product file :16:9 (1.77:1)

    Your 4K file: 1.90∶1 (256∶135)

That is why you have black bars when it is imported to your 16:9 project.

I hope that I have not been to technical…
