Well, in between renders I managed to achieve what I think you wanted to do with keyframes but it implied jumping thru so many hoops that it would be incredibly time consuming compared to what I proposed above.

When ever I want to do something I try to go the easiest way possible. What I would do is that once you have all of your effects in, just split (S on the keyboard) at the point you want the effect(s) to stop.
Choose the effect(s) you want to turn of. Split the timeline were you want it back again. You can also have it fade in and/or out by overlapping.

Still had one of my machines running Win 7 with some older versions of Vegas (on account of certain plug-ins and FX)
After following your link, the upgrade to Win 10 went flawlessly.

P.S.: @Steve Rhoden, you may want to look to upgrade also on account of Win 7 not having any more support or upgrades available…while it’s still available !!! Easy as pie. And nothing was lost and everything works great.

Type(s) of FX applied and in what order
What are your computer specs (CPU, GPU, OS, etc…)

Without knowing the complete specs about what you are uploading to Youtube, I can tell you that anything uploaded to Youtube will be downgraded to 60fps. Your quality problem may be somewhere else. Follow this link to the Youtube upload specifications and compare it what you have.

He’s using one of the Boris FX plugin. I think the one you’re looking for is part of one of the packages.
Regardless of the FX that you’ll be using, I highly recommend you get Vegasaur. One of the feature that I particularly like is the Beat Detector option. It will help you in better matching your effect.

If you want your audio to keep matching the video, I only know one way. First, I put markers at every cut points then ungroup the video from the audio (U). I use the Split command (S) at the marker points. Give yourself some room between chosen clips. Making sure that only the video track is selected, I backtrack the video by 1 second (you don’t have to be picky about this). Group that section (G). After the audio fade-in mix is to my liking, I merge the video part accordingly If one does this for each clip, you then have total control, to the frame, on you clip.
If someone else has a better way, I would be happy to know about it. So far, it has served me well.
