Maybe you could use roles to export many quicktime clips each
becoming your layers in motion ???

    Edited my post …

I double checked and 2.2 does not yet do XAVC , we mostly work with XDCAM HD 422 and SR Tape for now and i had not tested XAVC. You have to go to page 229 to realize the fact.

    sorry for the hopes

There is a less expensive solution from SONY that interacts directly with FCP X, the “Content Browser 2.2” . It will import MXF in an FCP X Event and Export any FCP X project properly formated back to an MXF file …
For XAVC , XDCAM, XDCAM 422, XDCAM EX in/out MXF files

    all the best

Edited : Theoricaly it deals with almost all Sony MXF but it does not do XAVC MXF … sorry

  • Did you try “Miro Video converter” it could be a solution.

September 22, 2013 at 2:24 am in reply to: Changing optimized Media settings

In My Own Understanding and FWIW

    – You can input any original (nativ) media that FCPX can handle but as far as internal transcoding Apple knows that anything under ProRes422 , be it ProRes LT or proxy which are optimized for playback, will not however support lost less (multi generation) renders as required in many editing operation and then depending on input codec succeed to output a good faithful “Master File”…

In fact if you can pre transcode your material to these lower quality codec they will not degrade further if you choose the internal ProRes 422 transcoding, however if you need internal proxy generation from FCPX you will get “half size ProRes proxy clips”… which are meant for offline work but not for good quality output (Master).

i guess you can’t always get what you want because sometimes it’s not a good idea for FCPX to offer bad choices. If you are inputing very high quality sources the temporary proxy setting will be great for swift creative editing (old offline concept). This proxy setting will yield accurate xml for reconforming in finishing applications (Grading or VFX). You will be able to reconnect to any proper source media be it 4k DPX sequences …

  • The FCPX sparsebundle must not be on a locked volume, which is what the APTS_FCP_X_2e.dmg is. Put the APTS FCP X.sparseimage in a regular HD , then mount it and everything should be fine…

  • I was looking in my old links and found this incredible application to run with a trackpad our an ipad…

    https://www.arcticwhiteness.com/thetouch/the-touch-for-final-cut-pro-x

it’s all touches (maybe as difficult as piano playing ) but definitivly in the right direction for keeping eyes on the screen….

    cheers

“Interesting, is that the same as Keypad Plus Pro by Dopplerthepom? Which is currently available.”

I don’t think you have as much freedom with this new app from “Dopplerthepom” that seems to be a vehicule for in-app purchases

  • I agree with you, since this keyboard experiment was about totally useless but a lot a fun to include in my FCPX first experimentations. I did also enjoy the tangent grading app and a ac7 mixing control app.
