Trying to prove my point, I took my son’s laptop about the same except he did not do the last apple update and all went well. So now I got my three days shooting on a couple of drives and I will try to have answers from apple. This was a java update and a security update.

Thanks Mr. Seeman, but it did not improve. Still crashing on inserting the sxs card in Express card slot. I had updated other soft from sony just in case but I was up to date on all. I uninstalled and reinstalled with the new ones but to no change. Is there a preference I should delete?

With the Kona LHe I could get the Macintosh desktop as a Full screen video display. The Kona3 won’t give me that possibility. Guess I’ll have to buy some hardware if I want to use Media Composer.
Thanks for the feedback

I wanted to help a friend in need
Just so that everyone knows, I’ve been at it for the last 72 hours. My friend has a G5 11,2 that is suppose to be compatible with the Decklink SDI card. Well… as for now it ain’t.
Simple setup XDCam clip shot at 30fps. FinalCut 6.0.6 set at compressor XDCam EX 30fps (35Mbs VBR)
Computer a G5 11,2. 12.5Gb Ram. Mac OS 10.5.8. HD Monitor Sony LDM-9050 with an HD/SDI InputIt looks pretty simple. Sure.
I have a friend who told me that maybe the software was too updated for the G5. So I downloaded the softwares from version 5. Did all the updates software and firmwares. Everytime I launched FinalCut 6.0.6 and tried every possibilities of having the Sony monitor the timeline. I really mean every possibilities that I was offered. For G5 owners out there don’t go below DeckLink 6.8.7 for Mac OS X 10.4 & 10.5 Universal. Believe me they don’t work. I stopped at DeckLink 7.2.1 for Mac OS X 10.4 & 10.5 Universal. But remember I had tried DeckLink 7.9.5 for Macintosh.
All in all I gave up. It’s been an unworthy experience.
For my part I have a Quad Core Intel with the AJA Kona3. I had some issues with my three 24 inches monitors. But after 15 minutes they were resolved. Even when I was using Media Composer with AJA before they agreed.
If anyone has a solution to this problem I would gladly take a moment to remember if I tried it.
Have a good day

My friend got the audio back. I asked her to check her cabling. Maybe this was it. For the video monitor she tried all three settings 8 bit, 10 bit and rgb with no success.
Something wong, but what?
Any more ideas
