I have yet to have a reject of compressor H264’s for HD. I have been delivering them to DG for over a year. For SD i have been doing MGEG Program Stream out of Media Encoder for those deliverables.

Like everyone else’s specification sheets, they are littered with contradictions. It can be hard to tell what really matters to them.

Thanks for the input. This project is making me a little paranoid given the fun i have had with it over the last 2 days.

  • After a little experimenting I have a workaround for this. This is a lot easier and more accurate than the method described on the Apple site. I changed over 100 text builds in very short order with this method. Its harder to describe than perform.

Make the changes to the photoshop file and save over the original.
Re-Import the photoshop file into the browser.
Change the browser name of the re-imported file to avoid confusion.
(If working with Anamorphic graphics make sure the re-imported graphic has the same dimensions and distortion ie check the anamorphic box in the browser).
Open the nest of the old graphic in the canvas.
Open the nest of the newly imported graphic and tear the sequence tab off and place it in your second monitor.
Drag the newly imported changed layers into the old nest and match the edits and applied filters.

From what I am gathering from the stuff I am reading, I am not the first to get hammered by this one. Lesson learned! The offline editor did his best in most cases to eliminate the nested sequences. I will try what you have offered as a solution and hope for the best. The only problem I have is that I have already captured most of the footage for the show and I have to figure out a way to create new master clips without going through the standard make offline project business.

    Thanks for the reply,
