After three days of trying to solve the problem — I even reinstalled OSX — I gave up and moved to a new user on the same machine and everything works perfectly there.

Although in different forums I got lots of promising tipps, nothing worked.

It’s a pity I could not find out what went wrong there and I hope it does not happen again.

    Thanks!

Yes, I was looking to delete the prefs, because FCPX is bonkers. I did delete the prefs you mentioned, but was looking for the last pref that stores the UserDestinations. It was not successful, FCPX still does not work.

Thanks for your thoughts. Because of your inputs, I made a new user on my machine and voilá — FCPX behaves as it should, so a hardware centric problem can be ruled out.
What can be wrong with a user that it causes FCPX to act up? Is there a list of files that FCPX stores/uses in the user?

I see the thread is quite old. Any solutions? Got an AAF from Media Composer 6.0.2 and Resolve 9.0.3

Just stumbled across this thread from ’10. I took a beating back then, but boy was I right. I remember Walter Biscardi being very public with his decision to leave FCPX and Apple after the Release of FCPX, here he was one of the Apple defenders. Funny read.

Now it would be interesting where this “apropriate Folder” is.

Thanks. Now it does cap at 0dB. I don’t unterstand exactely why, but I’ll remember those settings and use them next time. It’s obvious again: I’m not a soundperson.

I used a PSD file in a Motion EFFECT. In this effect nothing happens, but the PSD Logo gets resized and placed close to the safety lines in the top right hand corner of the frame. The same happens in the TITLE version of the corner bug. PSD imported, resized and placed. That’s it. No other effects were used in motion that the ones described above. certainly nothing that would explain the color shift. I recon “Color Space Interpretation” feels like the likely cause. There is no alpha in the Logo. It’s just a square box.

Now THAT I’ll try asap. Must be something like that, but strange that the same image is treated differently, when its in a EFFECT as opposed to a TITLE.

November 27, 2012 at 11:43 am in reply to: Audio Limiter in FCPX 10.0.6

I tried with the Logic Limiter, the FCP Limiter and the Limiter built into the Logic Compressor plugin. Whatever I do I get peaks at -6db, respectively -6.2dB, when I limit to -0,2dB as suggested.

    (See attached image)

I mjst be missing something, but I have looked everywhere and don’t find anything.

Haven’t had these Problems in 10.0.5., when I was editing the same podcast from the same material, recorded on the same day.
